The Department of Psychological Science at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027. We seek applicants from the areas of clinical psychology or psychopathology.
Requirements
- Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching
- Completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or psychopathology at the time of appointment

Responsibilities
- Teach classes required for, or supporting, the Psychological Science major
- Teaching load in the first year is four courses; in subsequent years, four classroom courses plus one intensive — a small-enrollment, closely mentored experience for undergraduates
- Teach an upper-level seminar in an area of the candidate's clinical/psychopathology expertise
- Teach intermediate-level clinical psychology courses
- Teach an introductory course in Statistics & Experimental Design

- Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to Vassar's many multidisciplinary programs

Pay
The annual base starting salary range for this position is $96,000 to $106,000 (USD). This range includes new faculty appointments beginning the first year of a standard tenure clock as well as Assistant Professors with previous tenure-line experience who will be on an accelerated tenure clock. When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidate's education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The starting salary for an Assistant Professor in this position with a PhD beginning the first year of a standard tenure clock in Fall 2027 is $100,000.
