Tenure-Track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Finance

About the role

The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Finance at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, beginning Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

• Engage students directly in managing the Student-Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), a $2.5 million portfolio that provides hands-on experience in professional asset management.
• Contribute to curriculum development aligned with the CFA Institute and CFP Board, preparing students for leadership roles in personal financial planning, corporate finance, and related fields.

Qualifications

• Hold a Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution (ABD considered for assistant professors if completion will occur prior to employment).
• Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
• Preferred qualifications include CFA or CFP credentials, relevant professional experience, and a record of or strong potential for publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
