About the role

The Tennis Shop Attendant supports the tennis experience for members and guests by promoting the game and the club's offerings. Key responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, assisting with merchandise selections, managing inventory, and supporting overall shop operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and friendly customer service at the register and check-in tennis players.
  • Respond to inquiries about lessons and court reservations, both in person and over the phone.
  • Engage with members and guests in a friendly manner, addressing their needs calmly and professionally.
  • Keep the tennis shop organized and clean, assist with merchandising, and support tennis operations.
  • Perform closing business functions, maintain work areas, and handle returned merchandise.
  • Maintain accurate tennis member information and follow up on special orders.
  • Promote the game of tennis and the club, maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.
  • Avoid additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or sports environments.
  • Familiarity with tennis equipment, apparel, and accessories is preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales or retail operations is beneficial, including skills in merchandising, inventory management, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Proven ability to manage inventory, place orders, and maintain a well-organized shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases.
  • Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing.
