About the role
The Sloane Stephens Foundation is seeking energetic, dependable Tennis Instructors to support our Love Love Compton school-based tennis programs. This is a great opportunity for tennis players, coaches, and individuals who enjoy working with children and want to help introduce the sport in a positive, fun environment.
Available Shifts
- School-Day/Recess Program: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
- After-School Program: 3:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Combination: Applicants may work both shifts based on availability.
What You'll Do
- Introduce elementary-age students to tennis through fun, active instruction.
- Lead SSF's structured recess and after-school tennis models.
- Teach basic tennis skills, movement, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Create an encouraging and inclusive environment for students of all ability levels.
- Work alongside other SSF coaches and school staff.
What We're Looking For
- Some tennis experience as a player, instructor, or coach.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with youth.
- Dependable, energetic, and comfortable leading groups of students.
- Coaching experience is helpful but not required.
SSF will provide a short, fun, hands-on training that teaches instructors exactly how to deliver our Love Love Compton recess and after-school tennis programs. Come help us grow tennis in Compton—one school, one student, and one racquet at a time.
