Job Description

  • Positions available on the Technical Stagehand Crew for the Lied Center, which is a presenting venue on West Campus.
  • The Lied Center hosts professional music, dance and theatrical tours, University ensembles and organizations, and Community events.
  • Crew members assist with the set-up, running and tear-down of Lied Center events.
  • Responsibilities include hanging and focusing lights, changing lamps, repairing cables, running lighting consoles, moving curtains, loading and unloading counterweight arbors, setting up and striking acoustical shells and large music ensembles, setting up and running audio systems, setting up and running cameras, running video projections, laying dance floors, sweeping, mopping, laundering & pressing costumes, cleaning up production areas, and helping repair, maintain all equipment.
  • Hours vary depending on the production schedule.

Position Requirements

  • This position requires flexibility to work around performance schedules.
  • This position requires working on-site.
  • Perform physical tasks associated with this occupational group with or without accommodation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in production or theatre experience (wardrobe, lighting, audio, video, and/or fly systems) obtained through coursework, volunteer, or paid work experience, as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in technical theatre, as evidenced in application materials.
  • Familiarity with multiple technical theatre systems, i.e. fly rail, audio, video, lighting, rough carpentry, as evidenced in application materials.
  • Wardrobe experience, as evidenced in application materials.
