Temporary Teaching Assistant

About the role

This is a temporary position placed through the Hirecall Staffing Agency. Flexibility is required, and you may be asked to work at any of our current locations.

Responsibilities

• Work with current staff to assist in the daily operations of the classroom
• Work cooperatively with all CAP employees, Family Support personnel, volunteers, and collaborative partners
• Willingness to change school locations throughout the Tulsa area, at an on-call basis
• Change diapers and assist with toilet training
• Provide positive child guidance and regular child interactions
• Promptly respond to the needs of infants and toddlers in the classroom
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED with Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (with appropriate endorsement), or in the process of obtaining CDA, or Para-Professional Certification (by education or test)
• Experience working with infant, toddler, or preschool children

Skills & Abilities

• Proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with intra-department and inter-department staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and contractors
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with the ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively
• Must be able to accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure
• Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Subject to standing, stooping, walking, lifting, and carrying objects throughout daily job performance
• Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

Bilingual skills are not required, but they are preferred.
