Temporary Substitute (Guest) Teacher 2026

30 work days required. Location varies district-wide based on assignment.

Qualifications

• Valid CDE teaching license or Three/Five-year Substitute License issued by CDE
• College transcripts (official transcripts required for full-time employment)
• Up to date on current learning theory and state-of-the-art pedagogy
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents, and administrators
• Knowledge and experience of, or willingness to learn, Competency-Based Education approaches
• Able to read, write, and comprehend English
• Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Education, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired
• Bilingual skills desired
• Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired

• Provides coverage for teachers who are absent throughout Westminster Public Schools
• Plans for student differences
• Applies principles of teaching/learning to provide for student achievement
• Adjusts instruction to meet student needs
• Communicates effectively with learners
• Maximizes learning time for all students
• Displays a fair and just manner for all students
• Communicates an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations
• Plans effectively and purposefully for the use of time, materials, and resources
• Creates a classroom environment that promotes instruction
• Organizes students for effective instruction
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, and administrators
