Permanent Substitute Teacher 2026-2027

Essential Functions

• Report to supervisor for daily assignment.
• Be professional at all times.
• Follow all school rules, procedures, and district policies.
• Assume the duties and roles of the regular classroom teacher.
• Supervise and manage the classroom including student discipline.
• Supervise student outside of the classroom during the school day as directed by the administration.
• Implement lesson plans left by the teacher to maximize academic time and motivate students to be engaged learners.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of the students.
• Take all precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Foster a safe and positive classroom environment. Ensure appropriate constant student supervision and assure the health, welfare, and safety of students.
• Report injuries, accidents, and issues to the administration.

Qualifications

• Possess a Substitute Teacher Permit issued by the Indiana Department of Education or hold a valid Indiana Teachers License.
• Prior experience working with students is desired.
• A degree from higher education is preferred but not required.
• Must meet all Clark-Pleasant employee eligibility criteria.
