Position Summary
The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties including verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials, and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Working in extreme climate change and operating equipment in tight enclosed space.
Essential Functions Of The Position
- Note and report discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Maintain accuracy and inventory items such as but not limited to materials, merchandise, stock.
- Examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage.
- Complete temperature checks as directed.
- Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
- Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
- Keep records and compile stock reports.
- Ensure all requirements are processed accurately and timely.
- Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Work in extreme climate change.
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
- Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Overtime may be required.
- Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
- Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
- Able to certify and maintain certifications and licenses as required.
- Able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision.
- Able to adapt, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
- Able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Able to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
- Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
- Must pass MHE testing and maintain licenses.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Able to work both as part of a team and independently.
- May be required to obtain a CAC.
Security Requirements
- US Citizen.
- Able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
- Able to pass the National Agency Background Check and obtain computer access.
