Temporary Senior Custodian

The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a custodian to join our team. Reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department, the successful candidate will perform routine and skilled custodial services to maintain clean, safe, and sanitary facilities.

About the role

• Perform routine and skilled custodial services to maintain clean, safe, and sanitary facilities, including floor care, restroom sanitation, kitchen cleaning, dusting, trash removal, and window cleaning.
• Operate specialized cleaning equipment and perform advanced cleaning tasks such as pressure washing, buffing and waxing hard floors, and deep carpet cleaning.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete daily cleaning assignments while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
• Inspect assigned areas and recommend improvements to cleaning processes, procedures, and overall facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 1-3 years custodial/housekeeping experience.
• Experience with floor care (waxing, buffing, and stripping).
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Pay Rate

Temporary Employment

• This is a temporary employment position.
• Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.
• Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.
• The majority of our temporary positions are Full Time. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.

Parking Information

• All visitors, staff, and students are required to purchase parking permits to park on UCI property.
