Job Summary
Provides janitorial and cleaning services for Division facilities. Performs inventory management and facilities and equipment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of custodial work experience or other closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Essential Functions
- Provides janitorial maintenance of facilities, including routine daily cleaning as necessary.
- Identifies cleaning needs and adjusts tasks as necessary.
- Performs inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment, equipment maintenance, and preventative maintenance of facilities.
- Keeps alert for facility problems that could be safety or security issues.
- Picks up and distributes cleaning supplies within facilities.
- Changes exterior lights and parking lot lights if needed and performs parking lot and window cleaning.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (ksa)
- Knowledge of Cleaning methods and techniques, sanitation principles, fire codes, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- OSHA fall protection standards and use of safety equipment
- Methods, materials, and equipment essential for custodial maintenance functions
- Inventory Control
- Preventive maintenance techniques
Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
- This position requires extensive physical labor; lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects over 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with some assistance).
- Kneeling, bending, sitting, and standing.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions, dirt, dust, heat, cold, chemicals, smoke, and/or loud noises.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION
- Work schedules are primarily night shifts.
- You must be available to work holidays, at weekends, and special events as needed.
- You will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
- May be subject to post-accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
- Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
