Temporary, Seasonal Park Maintenance Person
Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance and care of the City’s parks and recreational facilities. Operates riding and push lawnmowers, grass trimmers, leaf blowers and other landscaping machines and equipment. Performs grounds maintenance at City playgrounds, parks and athletic fields. Rakes grass and leaves, pulls weeds and disposes of refuse. Picks up litter and empties trash receptacles. Assists in marking out and lining of athletic fields. Performs related field maintenance activities such as bleacher, bench, and fence repairs, and painting. Performs field renovations such as spreading loam, clay and seed, and grading. Maintains power equipment by changing oil, greasing, sharpening blades, etc. Inspects and repairs playground equipment. Obtains supplies from local vendors as authorized and maintains related records. Prepares time sheets, recording daily work activities. Performs duties in compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- A current Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Must have a reliable vehicle.
- One year of experience in related field, two–three years preferred.
- Drug and alcohol screening is a condition of employment.
- Must be able to successfully pass Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI).

$18.00 per hour.
Hours
This is a temporary, part-time position not to exceed 19 hrs. per week. Deadline: Open until filled.
