About the role

The Temporary Seasonal Emergency Department RN-West LA Medical Center position is a non-benefited, temporary seasonal role with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire. The position requires working every other weekend and some holidays. The successful candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department and a valid California Registered Nurse License, along with Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency by exhibiting leadership, understanding own and team members scope of practice, and demonstrating professional, supportive behavior.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately, maintains accountability, and collaborates with other departments to assist in member problem resolution.
  • Develops and/or contributes to the individualized plan of care, ensuring multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education.
  • Maintains patient safety by monitoring progress, revising plans based on patient condition, and ensuring optimal pain control and patient comfort.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality, provides courteous and respectful treatment, and actively listens to meet patient and family needs.
  • Works collaboratively with the team, supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment, and adheres to attendance and professional development requirements.
  • Organizes work to minimize overtime and identifies systems improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.
  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
