Temporary | Rohr's In-Room Dining Server

About the role

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring for temporary/on-call In-Room Dining Servers at Rohr's in the campus Hospitality department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations. As an In-Room Dining (IRD) Server, you will provide detailed and expeditious food and beverage service directly to guests in various settings, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience in accordance with University Operations, Events, and Safety Hospitality Standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, transport, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic food and beverage items, as well as amenities, to hotel guest rooms, banquet meeting rooms, and dining rooms.
• Exercise extreme discretion and exemplary professionalism while in and around guest rooms and private areas.
• Bus tables and efficiently remove service items from guest rooms, hotel hallways, meeting and banquet dining rooms, the hotel lobby, terrace, and other designated areas.
• Lift and carry trays for beverage and food service according to established standards.
• Respond immediately to any safety and cleanliness concerns within the work environment.
• Perform tasks repeatedly and re-prioritize assigned tasks as needed to support service for other team members.
• Provide concierge services, including sharing knowledge of food and beverage offerings, Notre Dame, South Bend, and specific events on and around campus.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively suggest and offer additional items to enrich their experience.
• Clean and maintain all Room Service equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
• Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products

Pay

Pay Rate: $12/hr + tips
