Responsibilities
- Assist with assessment and treatment of school-age children (ages 9-17) with residual speech sound disorders (misarticulations of /r/ and /s/).
- Follow research protocols for assessment and treatment using an evidence-based approach, Speech Motor Chaining.
- Provide services at participants' homes or in public locations such as libraries.
- Treatment includes 16 hours per participant, plus progress-monitoring visits.
- Work with children in two conditions: two one-hour sessions per week for 8 weeks, or a more intensive treatment schedule (four 2 hr visits the first week, three one hour visits in weeks two and three, and two one hour visits the fourth week).
- Treat one participant at a time, with approximately 4-5 participants treated per year.
- Mileage will be reimbursed for travel to sessions, and an hourly rate of $41-45/hr will be compensated (up to an additional 1 hr will be paid for pre/post session work for each session).
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SLP, NY state licensure in SLP.
