Research Speech-Language Pathologist
About The Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY The Speech Motor Impairment and Learning (SMILe) Lab at Northeastern University, directed by Dr. Kristen Allison, seeks a motivated and highly capable individual to serve as a half-time (20 hrs/week; non-benefits eligible) research speech-language pathologist. This position is a minimum of a one-year commitment, with reappointment possible based on performance and funding.
Responsibilities
- Research data collection (50%)
- Running data collection sessions with child participants, including traveling to off-site locations, in conjunction with other lab members.
- Ensuring secure recording, transfer and storage of audio and video data.
- Data management and analysis (30%)
- Aid with data cleaning and analysis.
- Score standardized tests and write visit summaries for participants.
- Enter data into our research database and ensure accurate and secure data storage.
- Research project management (20%)
- Aid in developing data analysis protocols and training procedures.
- Aid in workflow management for data analysis across sites.
- Aid in summarizing, analyzing, and preparing presentations and publications.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree (MA/MS) in speech-language pathology is required, and experience administering assessments with young children is preferred.
- Experience with human subjects research is preferred.
- Strong computer and organizational skills are essential.
- A high attention to details, excellent interpersonal skills, and a capacity to work independently & with others in a complex, demanding, and exciting research environment are necessary.
- Must enjoy interacting with young children and be comfortable communicating with families.

Compensation
Compensation Grade/Pay Type 109H Expected Hiring Range $32.62 - $46.08 With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
