Temporary Position: Housekeeper

This is a temporary, on-call housekeeping position within the UNC Asheville reserve pool. Assignments vary by department and campus need.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning services, including emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms, windows, and doors daily
• Follow a building checklist to ensure consistent cleaning standards
• Maintain all housekeeping equipment in good working order
• Report any maintenance or safety problems daily
• Operate automated cleaning equipment and use commercial cleaning chemicals safely according to dispenser directions
• Comply with all virus-mitigation protocols to support a healthy campus environment

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform medium to heavy physical work
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and supplies
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
• Some positions may require special licenses or certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience cleaning public buildings
• Valid driver’s license

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Note: Hours per week and workdays are determined by individual department needs. Assignments are temporary and vary in duration.
