Housekeeper- Temporary

About the Role

The Housekeeper will clean, sanitize, and maintain areas by providing daily cleaning services for persons living in Assumption Seminary.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning to include but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming offices, resident suites, student rooms, guest rooms, chapels, bathrooms, and meeting spaces in all Assumption Seminary buildings.
• Develops and adheres to a cleaning schedule (i.e., Resident priest suites) to assure the cleanliness of the seminary is maintained.
• Communicates effectively with management to address issues or problem areas.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with staff/faculty to address cleaning needs/requests.
• Stocking/Replacing of cleaning supplies where refilling is needed (i.e., bathrooms, meeting spaces).
• Sanitizing/disinfecting frequently used areas around campus buildings (i.e., doors, tables).
• Disposing of waste in Assumption Seminary buildings to designated area for pick up.
• Organizing cleaning closets/carts for use.
• Notifies maintenance/facilities department of needed maintenance or repairs.
• Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization.
• Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in cleaning, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals/supplies and equipment use.
• Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.
• Good interpersonal skills with a polite and courteous demeanor toward staff and visitors.
• Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Applications.
• A solid grasp of cleaning and organizing.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and work well independently and on a team.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (25 hours per week)
