Temporary Pool-Property Security Officer
About the role
The Temporary Pool-Property Security Officer position is part-time and operates within the Fayetteville State University Department of Police and Public Safety. This unit is responsible for providing security support to the residence halls. The primary responsibilities include patrolling the designated residence hall, lobby area, hallways, exterior entrances/exits, and other areas within or immediately around the residence hall.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the interior and exterior of residence hall via foot.
- Guard property against fire, damage, theft, or other hazards; monitor assigned areas for possible violations of policies, regulations, and rules of conduct; recognize and report unusual, suspicious, or hazardous situations.
- Operate and maintain security enforcement equipment; and maintain related records and security reports.
- Check student identification cards (IDs) when necessary.
- Attend weekly residence hall staff meetings and participate in designated staff training activities as required by the Office of Residence Life and the Public Safety Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require a valid N.C. driver’s license. Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of local law enforcement experience.

Schedule
Primarily on weekends, 16-64 hours per month (subject to change based on business needs)
