Temporary Pool-Landscape Technician

About the role
The Division of Facilities Management designs, constructs, maintains and operates the physical facilities of the University, with the primary objective of providing and maintaining facilities that enhance and support the mission and academic goals. The unit focuses on cleaning, sanitizing and floor care for campus housing and academic/administrative buildings, delivering superior customer service. The Temporary Landscape Technician will perform landscaping duties at the main campus and existing properties of Fayetteville State University (1200 Murchison Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28301).
Responsibilities
- Mowing grass
- Trimming grass
- Trimming shrubs and trees
- Performing various landscaping related duties
- Assist with planting flowers, bulbs, trees, shrubs
- Pavement and asphalt repairs
- Performs daily debris removal from university grounds
- Operates assigned equipment in the performance of duties
- Assists in the application of pesticides
- May be required to perform grounds maintenance duties without supervision
- Required to perform grounds tasks in all types of weather conditions
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record, preferably five or more years of driving experience with no more than one minor at‑fault accident or violation in the past three years
Qualifications
- Experience with zero‑turn mowers and landscaping equipment (preferred)
Pay
$15.00 – $16.00 per hour
Schedule
40 hours per week; scheduled days and work hours vary and may include weekends and evenings; advance notice of schedules provided.
