This position is for someone who understands news and storytelling, with a passion for serving our viewers and readers with stories that matter to them. This full-time temporary position will be for approximately 3 months, and will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Hours will generally be 4:30 am to 12:30 pm, but may change as needed. Flexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network’s needs evolve. Position Description Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitorsCreate or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news storiesCraft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a differenceEdit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are metShowcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channelsUtilize SEO best practices Qualifications 2+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appealExperience working with video and social mediaExcellent communicator, both oral and writtenBachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Compensation Range: $30.00/hourly Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
