About the role
In this position you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors on the newscast and its content, and develop content for our website.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day production of newscasts
- Generate and write stories
- Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Multitask and manage time to assemble an exciting and informative newscast
- Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- On-the-spot problem solving
Requirements
- Solid news judgment
- Compelling and accurate writing skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems (e.g., iNews)
- At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station (entry-level candidates may be considered)
Qualifications
- Journalism degree preferred
Pay
The hourly compensation range for this role is $30.00 to $34.81.
