About the role
We are seeking a Temporary Maintenance Technician for a property in Acton. This role is ideal for an individual skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance. The successful candidate will promote and maintain good resident relations, effectively prioritize and organize maintenance and administrative work, and communicate effectively with employees, site staff, residents, vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, ADP, RealPage, and Entrata is required. A service-minded attitude and pride in work are essential.
Responsibilities
- Full-time, Monday - Friday schedule.
- Manage inventory control and purchasing in conjunction with the manager.
- Meet and communicate with site managers regularly to update on on-site issues.
- Assume on-call responsibilities for unforeseen emergencies, including weather-related incidents.
- Coordinate contracts and oversee contractor activities with the manager.
- Respond to daily emergencies and routine service work orders in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain the appearance of the site by collecting and discarding refuse from common areas daily.
- Perform preventative maintenance per site requirements.
- Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance, wearing company-issued uniforms.
- Be courteous to residents at all times.
Requirements
- Ability to respond effectively to site emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry and general repair and maintenance duties.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to arrive at the site promptly to respond to emergencies.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use First Realty computer programs.
- Ability to fill out and complete work orders accurately.
- Effective communication with site staff and residents.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Safe operation of power tools, such as saws and drills.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical before starting work.
- Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing.
