Temporary Maintenance Assistant

About the role

Willow Branch Health and Rehab is seeking a temporary Maintenance Assistant!

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance with the overall maintenance operation of the facility.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies.
• Knows and follows established safety rules, policies, and procedures of the maintenance department.
• Maintains the building in good repair and keeps free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
• Maintains the building in compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes and laws.
• Collaborates with other departments for maintenance work.
• Performs routine maintenance and repair work, such as painting, minor carpentry, repair work, changing light bulbs, and various other routine maintenance tasks.
• Keeps the grounds looking neat and cared for by mowing and trimming the grass, trimming the bushes and trees, keeping the leaves and litter picked up, the sidewalks clear of debris, and any erosion challenges under control, as necessary.
• Keeps work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly.
• Performs duties of washing windows and screens outside of building.
• Performs other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• Background of maintenance work.
• A high school diploma or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience with operating various pieces of equipment, to include: lawn mower, weed eater, blower, edger, pressure washer, chainsaw, etc.
• Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of elderly or disabled residents.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
