Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Director with daily maintenance tasks including repairs, groundskeeping, equipment checks, and general upkeep.
- Support the trach unit by ensuring critical areas are functioning properly and maintaining equipment cleanliness and readiness.
- Respond to work orders and safety concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on facility systems such as lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures under supervision.
- Help with seasonal outdoor tasks such as landscaping, trash removal, and general beautification of the grounds.
- Ensure hallways and rooms remain clear and hazard-free to maintain resident and staff safety.
- Communicate effectively with nursing and environmental services teams to coordinate needs in the trach unit.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality and resident dignity at all times.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous maintenance or custodial experience is a plus but not required.
- Comfortable working around residents with medical conditions, including tracheostomies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks safely.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are essential.
- Must be 18 years or older.
