Temporary Lab/Field Research - Chavez

About the role

This position will work both indoors and outdoors doing primarily field and laboratory work for peach, blueberry and grape research projects. Fieldwork includes, but is not limited to, helping to plant, maintain, harvest and process field studies. Work in the field and greenhouse will be done in hot conditions. Laboratory work includes, but is not limited to, processing samples, dissection, extraction, and others.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working in a laboratory for multiple hours a day.
• Duties also require intermittent out of town travel to research plots during the workday.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent combination of education and work experience in horticulture or a related area, other training will be provided as appropriate.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
