Position Overview
The Temporary Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing within the agency, ensuring continuity and quality of care for hospice patients. This is a temporary position expected to last 13 weeks, subject to the terms of the employment agreement and operational needs.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincy's service areas to provide in-home patient and family services and support in clients' homes, facilities, and community locations.
- This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
- Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of hospice, palliative, or home health experience.
- Wellsky Software experience.
Compensation
Hiring Range: $65.00/hour - $75.00/hour
Benefits
- Sick Time: Earned on an accrual basis.
Schedule
This is a 13-week temporary employee agreement position with no fixed or guaranteed schedule. Work schedules and shift assignments will be determined based on operational and patient-care needs and may vary throughout the assignment.

- Policy Compliance: Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
- Confidentiality: Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines. Only access information on a need-to-know basis.
- Transportation: Maintain reliable personal transportation. Maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
- Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
- Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
- Physical Demands: Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. (see attached physical requirements)
- Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
- Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training by designated deadlines.
- Licensure and Certification: Maintain current licensure(s) and certification(s) required for the role.
- Language Proficiency: Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Work Availability: Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
