Temporary Faculty Psychology

About the Role

The Department of Psychology is accepting applications for part-time faculty positions for the academic year 2026–2027. These positions are arranged on an as-needed, semester-by-semester, course-by-course basis and are located within the state of Georgia. The role primarily involves teaching undergraduate courses in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online). Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Department Information

The Department of Psychology offers a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science with concentrations in Experimental Psychology and Behavior Analysis, and an APA-accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology. Faculty are engaged in innovative teaching techniques and collaborative research while supporting each other’s teaching, research, and service goals.

• Teach undergraduate courses in psychology.

Requirements

• Earned master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology at the time of appointment.
• Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
• Commitment to best practices in instruction and pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of successful college/university teaching experience.
• Interest in developing/teaching courses using multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, and synchronous formats).

Skills & Abilities

• Engaging customer service and ability to support diverse university constituencies.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Google applications, and other position-specific software.
• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational, and human relations skills.
• Adherence to University policies and procedures to meet institutional goals and support the university’s mission for student success.

Conditions of Employment

• All work must be completed while physically present in the state of Georgia, unless specifically authorized by the university.
• Faculty are expected to contribute to the university community by engaging students, participating in events, and performing on-campus responsibilities.
• May be required to teach on any of the three campuses (Statesboro, Armstrong, or Liberty).
• Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation, including a criminal background check, confirmation of credentials, and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check.
• Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
