About the Role

The Athletics Department is seeking a Temporary Facilities and Game Operations Assistant to join their team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gameday operations.
  • Setup and breakdown of events.
  • Assist with visiting team logistics.
  • Assist with pre/post-game meals.
  • Assist in setting up fields and game areas for gameday.
  • Assist with in-game logistics.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities with everyday needs to run the athletic facilities.
  • Review daily checklists to ensure everything is operating well in the facility.
  • Operate university golf carts on campus.
  • Adhere to all State of Florida, FIU, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules and policies.
  • Serve as point of contact for all internal and external athletics partners at FIU Athletics events.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of sports (desired).

Schedule

Hours may vary. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Advertised salary: $14.00 per hour.

As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs (e.g., paid leave, retirement, or tuition reimbursement). Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. Temporary employees are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g., dental, vision), which require full payment on your part.

Pre-employment requirements: Criminal Background Check and Driver's License Check.
