Temporary - Associate Teacher I-IV - Child Development Center
About the role
This is a temporary, non-continuing position open until filled. The position supports institutional success by executing the duties listed under Representative Duties.
Responsibilities
- Supervises children during classroom activities
- Applies and follows proper safety and emergency procedures
- Assists in the supervision and training of Assistant Teachers, CDV students, Associate Teachers I-III, parents, and volunteers
- Prepares curriculum materials as needed
- Carrries out plans with each individual child’s needs in mind
- Follows verbal and written instructions
- Maintains compliance with the Center’s rules and policies
- Shares responsibility of non-instructional tasks
- Participates in staff and team meetings and attends in-service trainings as scheduled
- Performs general cleanup duties to straighten and organize the Center
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude with children, staff, and parents
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate Teacher IV: Three years experience as an Associate Teacher, High School Diploma and/or equivalent, 12 core CDV units completed, and must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check; Criminal Records Clearance, Child Abuse Index, and must successfully complete a Physician’s Report and TB Clearance. Must be CPR and First Aide certified (within one year of hire).
- Associate Teacher III: Two years experience as an Associate Teacher, High School Diploma and/or equivalent, 12 core CDV units completed, and must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check; Criminal Records Clearance, Child Abuse Index, and must successfully complete a Physician’s Report and TB Clearance. Must be CPR and First Aide certified (within one year of hire).
- Associate Teacher II: One year experience as an Associate Teacher, High School Diploma and/or equivalent, 12 core CDV units completed, and must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check; Criminal Records Clearance, Child Abuse Index, and must successfully complete a Physician’s Report and TB Clearance. Benefits
The College offers a Bronze level benefit plan at the cost of the employee. Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn forty (40) hours of sick leave per fiscal year. Retirement: This position may be eligible for CalPERS Retirement (contingent upon number of hours worked within the fiscal year).
Pay
This is a Short-Term Non-Continuing (STNC), temporary, hourly position, 10 hours per week not to exceed 20-40 hours per week, $19.45-22.12 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.
