About the role

This is a Short-Term, Non-Continuing (STNC) position at Mendocino-Lake Community College District's Child Development Center. The position is open until filled and supports institutional success by assisting in the supervision of children and implementing curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in planning and implementing daily program
  • Follows proper safety and emergency procedures
  • Prepares and sets up activities
  • Uses effective positive discipline methods
  • Collects data for developmental records
  • Works cooperatively with team members
  • Ensures yard and equipment safety
  • Treats children with dignity and respect
  • Supervises classroom and yard
  • Reports to work on time
  • Attends and participates in meetings
  • Maintains confidentiality of Center information
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Community Care Licensing training
  • Experience in childcare principles and safety practices
  • Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Benefits

The position is a Short-Term, Non-Continuing (STNC) hourly position, paid at $18.12 per hour, with a Bronze level benefit plan at the cost of the employee. Includes 40 hours of sick leave per fiscal year.
