Temporary - Agriculture Aide I
About the role
This is a short-term, non-continuing position open until filled. The position supports student and institutional success by executing various duties in the greenhouse and agriculture department.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and execute agricultural needs and greenhouse work
- Support bi-annual plant sale with customer support, monetary transactions, and tracking of sales
- Support bi-annual plant sale with preparation, such as plant displays and general housekeeping
- Assist in maintenance of gardens, weeding, pruning, mulching, etc.
- Use of power tools, weed eater, leaf blowers, hedge trimmer, and various others
- Water plants as directed
- Plant and transplant seedlings and plants as directed
- Aid in setup and/or moving of greenhouse plants and/or equipment/material
- Support signage and other plant identification
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic agriculture and/or greenhouse principles
- Basic customer service approaches
- Basic mathematical and monetary calculations (with calculator assistance)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to traverse uneven ground
Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of stakeholders, follow verbal and written directions, conduct themselves in a professional manner, abide by District policies and procedures, and lift up to 75 lbs.

Pay
The position is paid at $18.12 per hour.
Schedule
The position is open-ended and will be filled as needed, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Requirements
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring, including by not limited to a Live Scan background check, completion of TB, and work permit where required.
