Temporary Accounting Specialist

Kennedys is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our US Finance team for a temporary assignment to last approximately 4-6 weeks. The successful Accounting Specialist will work as part of the Accounting team, alongside the Billing, Collections, and Finance Database teams, to provide accounting support to Kennedys US internal and external clients. This temporary position requires the Accounting Specialist to work fully onsite in our Berkeley Heights, NJ office, Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Key Responsibilities Supporting US offices, ensuring compliance with firm's policy and client retainers or jurisdictional rules and regulations at all timesAccurate and timely processing of day to day transactions through firm's office and client accounts, including entering/authorizing payments on the banking system, posting payments/receipts and registering disbursement vouchersDealing with all internal and external clients in a timely professional, polite and proactive mannerManaging high volume workflow, maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy Maintaining open lines of communication within the team, supervisors and managers – strong written and verbal communicationAssisting with and resolving day-to-day queries received by the teamInforming and updating management on complex and time-consuming queries/requests to ensure day-to-day workflow is maintainedPosting cash receipts and bank depositsProcessing credit card paymentsDaily cash receipt reportingResearching payment detailsProcessing overpayment refundsMonthly and daily bank reconciliations and reportingDaily monitoring, categorizing and handling E-mails and Requests received to the Team's Email Addresses in Service Desk PlusScanning and saving checks, payment back-up, bank statements and other department documentsResponding to Annual AuditsProviding back-up & Support to the Accounting Team Required Experience Strong Proficiency in MS ExcelExperience working with clients, vendors and/or customers. Strong attention to detail.Experience with basic Accounting functions.Experience with banking platforms The hourly pay range for this role is $35-$40 per hour. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
