The Carey School, a Preschool to 5th grade independent school in San Mateo, California, seeks an experienced educator for a temporary 3rd-5th grade Mandarin teacher position in a hands-on, active learning environment. As a member of the world language team and faculty, the ideal candidate will collaborate with colleagues, design inquiry-based curriculum, and integrate content across classes and subject areas.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate experience designing inquiry-based Mandarin curriculum for 3rd-5th grade levels
- Integrate content across class and subject areas
- Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of all learners
- Collaborate with colleagues on the world language team and broader faculty
- Support an inclusive environment that nurtures social-emotional growth
Requirements
- Command of the Mandarin language and curriculum at 3rd-5th grade levels
- Strong understanding of children’s developmental levels
- Experience with differentiated instruction strategies

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.
Pay
The anticipated salary range is $105,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience or education.
Schedule
Employment is expected from October 7, 2026, to April 16, 2027.
