Position Overview

The Emissions Security (EMSEC)/TEMPEST Manager shall provide cybersecurity oversight for the SSC Det 5 and related Space Force organizations. Activities include evaluation, development, review, and validating implementation of certified TEMPEST packages and acting as the focal point for all TEMPEST package coordination for customers assigned to buildings managed by SSC Det 5. Reviews will be accomplished annually, and recertification will be accomplished every three years.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical security expertise in planning, preparing, and managing a multitude of TEMPEST certified spaces and systems in support of Space Force program offices.
  • Respond to and coordinate TEMPEST certification tracking (approximately 25 to 35 packages annually).
  • Ensure that TEMPEST inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated in support of Det 5 program offices.
  • Support audit and recertification efforts (approximately 25 to 35 TEMPEST packages annually).
  • Provide monthly status reports.
  • Continual interface with government representatives and other contractors is required to achieve and maintain TEMPEST compliance; advise and inform the governing DoD Component Cyber Security program on TEMPEST status, changes, and local policy development.
  • Contribute to relative content regarding Cybersecurity and Configuration Management (CM) in support of regular CM IPTs.
  • Monitor the system or information environment for events, deficiencies, and configuration changes that negatively impact cyber security posture.
  • Ensure that cyber security violations and incidents are properly reported to the DoD reporting chain.
  • Clock in and coordinate responses to cyber security-related alerts.
  • Schedule a recertification of any or all TEMPEST controls at any time independently or at the direction of the Space Force Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority (CTTA) for Det 5 program offices.
  • Coordinate with SSC program offices to identify and compile required TEMPEST documentation, assist in determining vulnerabilities, and recommend required TEMPEST countermeasures for DoD information systems.
  • Document and disseminate all new official policies and publications that affect the TEMPEST environment and certifications.
  • Ensure all duties are being fulfilled in accordance with TEMPEST regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT, Cybersecurity or relative technical discipline.
  • Experience: 3 years applicable TEMPEST, IT, Cybersecurity or relative experience.
  • Clearance: SECRET clearance within the last two years *with the ability to obtain a US Top Secret clearance*

Minimum Qualifications

  • IAT Level 2 Certified (Security Plus (Sec+) Certification)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork/collaboration, time management, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Tech-savvy and capable of adapting to change
  • Must take initiative and be motivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • AETC-certification TEMPEST training
  • Prefer top secret clearance
  • Air Force or Spac Force experience
