About the role
As a Production Material Handler, you will work with production operators to ensure correct materials are available, used, and transacted properly according to our inventory management system processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the issuance of materials for Pressroom, Finishing, and Smart Card departments.
- Maintain First In First Out procedures for all materials.
- Oversee the material usage transactions of materials for Pressroom, Finishing, and Smart Card departments.
- Assist with training new employees in the position.
- Follow all mandated security procedures and process requirements.
- Operate dock truck, hand jacks, powered jacks, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Implement and maintain the Monarch ERP system within the warehouse to track inventory levels and flow between sites (in conjunction with Inventory Control Specialists).
- Maintain material organization and labeling.
- Transfer material from the offsite warehouse to the production facility.
- Assist with month-end physical inventory counts.
- Take on additional tasks and projects as determined by the Buyer and Warehouse Supervisor.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience with inventory and/or warehouse technology systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate counts of a wide variety of materials.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Elementary English proficiency and communication skills.
- Experience operating powered jacks, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks including stand-up reach truck.
- Self-starting qualities and a sense of urgency.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Willingness to be a team member.
- Good organizational abilities and proficient communication skills in English.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Pay
Base rate of $18.00 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- Work is conducted in a standing position and requires walking, bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
Employment Details
- 90-day work assignment, which includes a 30-day attendance-required period for training purposes.
- After 75 working days, you may be eligible for full-time employment if you maintain good standing with the company, including attendance, performance, and teamwork.
- This seasonal position does not offer benefits such as production attendance bonus, production performance bonus, double time, PTO, or paid holidays.
- Overtime work is required.
- Employees who transition to permanent positions following their probationary period will become eligible for benefits starting on the first day of the month after their start date.
