About the role

The Summer Program positions are available for those interested in teaching and supporting students with disabilities during the summer months. Program dates for most Summer Programs are provided, with specific dates and times confirmed upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assists students on/off buses often involving lifting and pushing.
• Makes sure students enter and exit classrooms safely.
• Supports students with self-help skills like dressing, toileting, and hygiene.
• Helps manage students with challenging behaviors.
• Responds promptly to emergencies such as seizures or behavioral issues.
• Collects and sets up classroom materials.
• Maintains a positive classroom environment.
• Collaborates with teachers and other staff to support classroom instruction.
• Maintains order and proper use of materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Observes and records student progress.
• Ensures inventory and timely return of instructional materials.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Considerable patience and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Proficiency with business technology applications (e.g., video/web conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite).
