Temp: Assistant Site Facilitator - All Summer Programs

About the role

The Summer Program positions are available for those interested in Secondary and Elementary offerings. Program dates and specific times will be confirmed upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assists Site Facilitator with the supervision of students to ensure their care and safety.
• Supervises teachers and staff, evaluating their effectiveness in implementing the instructional program and philosophy.
• Evaluates instructional strategies to ensure the program is being implemented effectively based on students' needs and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with staff, students, and parents to ensure a positive school climate.
• Communicates effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and students.
• Develops a collaborative working relationship with the host schools' staff.
• Maintains compliance with AACPS policies/procedures and communicates with Central Office.
• Provides staff in-services and materials of instruction (MOI) to teachers and ensures proper care and use of the facility and equipment.
• Reviews Student Progress Reports for appropriateness.
• Communicates relevant information to staff regarding students identified with health/medical concerns.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records, case files, etc. as required by program regulations, Board policies, and federal, state, and local laws.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
• One (1) year previous teaching assignment during the Summer Programs.
• One (1) year previous experience working with the Summer Programs.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills as a member of a multi-disciplinary assessment team.
• Ability to use technology, including instructional technology hardware such as document cameras, presenters, and SmartBoards, laptops, desktops, specialized assessment and data analysis software.
• Familiarity or ability to use instructional technology hardware such as document cameras, presenters, and SmartBoards, laptops, desktops, specialized assessment and data analysis software, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively engage diverse parents/guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill and experience to support their child's education.
• Proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
• Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification: Standard Professional Certificate I (SPC I) issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
