About the role
The East Coast Union Payroll team seeks a Temp Senior Union Payroll Associate to ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state, multi-company weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and non-union freelance employees. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process multi-state, multi-company weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and non-union freelance employees in compliance with collective bargaining agreements, FOX policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Handle on-demand payments, retroactive payments, one-time payments, tax adjustments, stop payments, void checks, direct deposit reversals, and overpayment collections.
- Interpret and set up withholding orders for levies, garnishments, child support, and other involuntary wage assignments within regulated periods.
- Apply knowledge of union pay rules, paid time off, and timekeeping systems to address employee questions.
- Ensure proper taxation of all employee payments, including employer-paid union benefits, and address related inquiries.
- Assist employees and management with payroll questions, applying technical expertise and effective communication.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX controls.
- Serve as a union payroll expert, resolving customer issues, performing Root Cause Analysis, and implementing remedial procedures.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on union payroll processing experience, preferably with IBEW, IATSE, AFTRA, and/or NABET collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience interpreting and setting up withholding orders for levies, garnishments, child support, and involuntary wage assignments.
- Knowledge of automated time and attendance systems.
- Strong understanding of FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour, and tax regulations.
- Ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements for pay and paid time off rules.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

Pay
The pay rate for this role ranges from $35.50 to $41.35 per hour, with the final offer dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
