TEMP RN - Up to $65/hr

About the role

This is a temporary, full-time, 13-week nursing assignment at Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital, located within TrustPoint Hospital. The hospital offers the only acute, hospital-based inpatient physical rehabilitation in Rutherford County, specializing in neuro and ortho cases. Patients are referred by outside hospitals to the inpatient setting, where services include occupational, physical, speech, and respiratory therapy, plus IV therapy, wound care, and rehabilitation nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care accordingly.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of practice defined by the state Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and corporate protocols.
• Transcribe physicians' orders accurately per policy and procedure.
• Assess patient status on an ongoing basis, gather and document pertinent information, and notify physicians of significant changes (e.g., detox difficulties, medical emergencies, medication response).
• Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission and ensure all plans are specific to assessed needs.
• Apply universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Administer medications accurately per orders and document controlled substance counts.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients through professional boundaries, personal attention, and rational detachment.
• Direct or coordinate unit activities as assigned.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in treatment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (or eligible to practice per state requirements).
• At least one year of behavioral health experience.
• Med/Surg experience required.
• Availability for 3x12hr shifts per week (Day 7:00–7:00 or Night 7:00–7:00), with rotating weekends.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous psychiatric, mental health, behavioral health, or substance use nursing experience is a plus.

Pay

• $60 per hour for Day shift.
• $65 per hour for Night shift.

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (Day or Night, 7:00–7:00).
• Rotating weekends.
• 13-week assignment with opportunity to convert to full-time employee post-contract.

Temporary employees may be eligible to convert to a regular full-time position if offered. Current Acadia Healthcare employees are not eligible for this temporary assignment. This is a direct temporary opportunity (not an agency contract); travel stipends or reimbursements are not provided. The position is not benefits-eligible.
