TEMP RN - $65

Short-term contract for a 13-week assignment at East Tennessee Behavioral Health, offering a flat rate of $65 per hour. Opportunities for conversion may be available after the contract period, including a $7.5k conversion bonus for full-time days.

About the Role

East Tennessee Behavioral Health, Knoxville's newest behavioral health provider, is seeking experienced RNs to join our team. We provide a full continuum of behavioral health treatment services for adults and seniors, delivering compassionate, personalized care.

This is a temporary assignment (not an agency contract) with no travel stipends or reimbursements provided.

Schedule

Full-time days with 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy.
• Assess patients’ status on an ongoing basis and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status, such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, or medication responses.
• Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission, ensuring they are specific to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications and document controlled substance counts as required.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries and respecting personal space.
• Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in treatment.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements.
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Pay

$65 per hour (flat rate).
