Mercor is hiring music experts for a frontier generative-music AI lab, working in **Telugu**.
About the role
We're looking for someone with formal musical training or professional experience — a degree in music, or a few years working as a musician, composer, transcriber, engineer, or teacher. You should have a strong ear: the hardest part of the work is transcribing a melody by ear with relatively accurate pitch and rhythm, and recognizing key, tempo, and time signature. For **Telugu**, you also need strong fluency so you can accurately handle sung lyrics — including accents and less-clear delivery. This is a pilot at **2–5 hrs/week**, but it is very likely to expand, and high performers will be prioritized for the larger phases.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
- Recognize key, tempo, and time signature
- Handle sung lyrics in **Telugu** with strong fluency, including accents and less-clear delivery
Requirements
