Job Summary
About the role
Manage an alpine retail and ski/snowboard rental shop located in Telluride, CO. Store Manager will need to successfully manage a fast-paced retail and rental environment, multitask and manage multiple customers. Lead, mentor and train a staff of 5-10 employees on providing exceptional service to our guests. Store Manager oversees day-to-day functions of all store operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for managed location
- Create a positive team environment
- Maintain rental fleet tunes and ASTM requirements
- Proficient in POS operations including opening/closing procedures and reporting
- Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll
- Maintain administrative responsibilities including training, staffing, budgeting and reporting
- Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)
- Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognition
- Hold regular staff meetings to ensure health and safety standards and company policies are being followed
- Address staff needs and complaints
- Establish Performance goals for staff, conduct bi-annual and annual performance appraisals
- Prepare store for retail and rental inventories
- Maintain retail / rental inventory to prevent shrink
- Participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives
- Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures
- Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain
- Communicate companywide messages and new information to staff
- Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Employee is returning to retail sales within the company or has at least two-year previous experience in sales or retail
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor degree in related field or four years minimum of retail management experience

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Interviews, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses staff complaints and resolves problems
- Prepares and communicates weekly staff schedules
- Submit payroll and compute staff commissions for each pay period
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with team lifting
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is infrequently exposed to outside weather conditions
