Job Summary

About the role

Manage an alpine retail and ski/snowboard rental shop located in Telluride, CO. Store Manager will need to successfully manage a fast-paced retail and rental environment, multitask and manage multiple customers. Lead, mentor and train a staff of 5-10 employees on providing exceptional service to our guests. Store Manager oversees day-to-day functions of all store operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for managed location
• Create a positive team environment
• Maintain rental fleet tunes and ASTM requirements
• Proficient in POS operations including opening/closing procedures and reporting
• Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payroll
• Maintain administrative responsibilities including training, staffing, budgeting and reporting
• Maintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)
• Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and procedures
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognition
• Hold regular staff meetings to ensure health and safety standards and company policies are being followed
• Address staff needs and complaints
• Establish Performance goals for staff, conduct bi-annual and annual performance appraisals
• Prepare store for retail and rental inventories
• Maintain retail / rental inventory to prevent shrink
• Participate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities
• Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives
• Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures
• Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain
• Communicate companywide messages and new information to staff
• Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Employee is returning to retail sales within the company or has at least two-year previous experience in sales or retail
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Bachelor degree in related field or four years minimum of retail management experience

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Interviews, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses staff complaints and resolves problems
• Prepares and communicates weekly staff schedules
• Submit payroll and compute staff commissions for each pay period

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear
• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with team lifting
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is infrequently exposed to outside weather conditions
