About the role
The Teller II conducts transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, meeting or exceeding service quality standards while safeguarding bank assets. This role contributes to the bank's growth by promoting and cross-selling bank products and services.
Responsibilities
- Receives, pays out cash, handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
- Sets up, closes, and balances teller station.
- Records sales of monetary instruments.
- Maintains neat and well-stocked teller area.
- Cross-sells bank products and services.
- Follows limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness.
- Adheres to bank policies and procedures.
- Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine as assigned.
- Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work.
- Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions.
- Cross-trains to open basic new consumer accounts.
- Adheres to work schedule; must be flexible in availability for work schedule.
- Maintains a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Completes required BSA/AML and other compliance training as assigned.
- Lifts coin bags up to 50 lbs.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- May be required to work at an alternative location within the region or market.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations.
- Basic math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using money and other forms of measurement.
- Proficiency with 10-key, spreadsheet, and word processing/typing software.
- Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out simple multi-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with limited variables.
- Must maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance.
Skills
- Communication: Ability to convey information clearly in person-to-person and small group settings.
- Mathematical: Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, especially with money and measurements.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to follow multi-step instructions and handle standardized situations with limited variables.
- Physical: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
Working Conditions
- Periodically exposed to noise, intermittent standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Semi-repetitive, low physical work requiring periods of concentration for varied time cycles.
- Continuously required to talk or hear; regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
