About the Role
The Teller I role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area. A Teller I is responsible for processing routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers accurately and efficiently. This role involves consistent in-person interaction, adherence to established policies and procedures, and collaboration with branch colleagues to provide excellent member service.
Responsibilities
- Process routine financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers accurately and efficiently.
- Assist members at the branch and answer questions about accounts and services.
- Handle cash and checks securely and balance a cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Support members in understanding credit union products and promote appropriate services based on member needs.
- Refer more complex inquiries to senior staff when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong cash-handling abilities and attention to detail in processing financial transactions.
- Member-focused service skills, including clear communication, patience, and problem-solving in a diverse environment.
- Basic math proficiency and comfort working with transaction systems, banking software, and office technology.
- Ability to follow security, compliance, and confidentiality policies in a regulated financial setting.
- Collaborative mindset, reliability, and willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in customer service, retail, or banking is beneficial.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly Spanish and English, are highly valuable.
