General Purpose
Aid members with transactions and perform other teller duties. Responsibilities include standing for prolonged periods, lifting cash drawer and coin bags, and working flexible hours.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Determine and transact member requests or refer to proper staff.
- Perform teller functions, including cash drawer management and account balancing.
- Sign on and off computer, adhere to procedures, and educate members about products and services.
- Make referrals, assist with safe deposit box access, and stay updated on legal and regulatory changes.
- Request members to maintain positive account balances and pay delinquent loans and credit card balances.
- Research account information, open and process new accounts, and close accounts as needed.
- Perform vault teller duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Job Knowledge
- Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting teller transactions.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounts pertinent to the department.
- Knowledge of credit union's products and services.
- Knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
- Knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats, and extortion.
- Knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system, Internet, and relevant software programs.
- Knowledge of opening and closing procedures.

- Understanding and following moderately complex written and verbal instructions.
- Clear and concise communication skills.

- High volume work production with accuracy and quality.
- Analysis of out-of-balance situations and solution development.
Job Qualifications (Ability)
- Ability to handle fast-paced area and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to handle extended periods of standing and carrying items up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)
- A high school level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
- Previous cash handling experience in similar roles.
- Formal training supplemented with continuing education.
