Telephonic Interviewer
About the role
The organization is a leading provider of business process outsourcing services within the insurance industry, specializing in long-term care insurance. It manages over 1.3 million long-term care policies for major insurers nationwide and offers clients risk management insights based on proprietary long-term care databases. The Telephonic Interviewer role is responsible for conducting phone interviews with insurance applicants to collect detailed health history and lifestyle information essential for underwriting. This position contributes to the organization by ensuring accurate, timely data collection that supports the insurance evaluation process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct telephonic interviews with insurance applicants in a professional, distraction-free environment.
- Receive calls from customer service representatives to complete interviews.
- Use scripted follow-up questions to gather thorough and accurate data.
- Provide concise documentation of applicants’ health histories.
- Maintain focus during interviews, tactfully redirecting when needed.
- Complete interviews within established timeframes according to guidelines.
- Maintain at least 85% productivity as measured by management systems.
- Achieve a minimum 96% quality standard on all interviews.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Proficient with basic computer software, including Microsoft Office, and able to troubleshoot basic computer issues.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Basic functional math skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadline pressure.
- Experience with heavy telephone contact and computer use.
- Work-from-home employees must have high-speed internet and an analog or digital phone line.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
- Experience with databases.
- 1-2 years of geriatric or mental health nursing and assessment experience.
Pay
The base pay for this position starts at $16/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
