Telemetry Technician-Centralized Monitor Room Part-time Days

About the role
This position works 24 hours per week, including 2 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with an every-other-weekend rotation and holiday rotation. The Telemetry Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
- Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
- Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
- CPR – Basic Life Support
Schedule
