About the role

A Telemetry Technician plays a crucial role in monitoring patients' vital signs and ensuring their safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
  • Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
  • Identify and correct for artifacts.
  • Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Test equipment for proper working order.
  • Report on equipment problems to supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification.
  • Phlebotomy training.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Licenses: EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills.

Pay

Hourly range: $19.90 - $30.16
