Telemetry Technician

About the role

The Telemetry Technician, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), is responsible for facilitating the telemetry monitoring of patients on a shift-to-shift basis. Hours: Night Shift 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate ECG readings and report changes in rhythms to the RN promptly.
• Prepare, maintain, and clean telemetry equipment, including replacing batteries and ECG leads.
• Document ECG data, including rate, rhythm, and interval measurements, in patient records.
• Absorb patient locations during off-monitor procedures and ensure ECG rhythm visualization upon patient return.
• Implement crash cart checks as required by the facility at the beginning of each shift.
• Provide comprehensive patient ECG history to incoming monitor technicians.
• Maintain admission and discharge logbooks and equipment logbooks as required by the facility.

Requirements

• Basic Rhythm Certification within 90 days of hire/transfer into job as required by facility.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) Certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Basic Rhythm Certification, BLS-HCP Certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, previous customer service experience.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $19.50 - $26.48.
